HIV Testing: from £110

We can now offer instant HIV Test results using INSTi (TM) Technology. Results are available in person, in 1 minute.

Our standard DUO HIV Test results are available within 4 hours by phone, or in person. This includes the P24 Antigen and HIV 1 and 2 Antibodies. We can test 28 days after contact with a very high degree of accuracy.

We can also offer the Proviral DNA PCR Test for HIV 1, 10 to 14 days after contact. This is an early detection test. These results are available usually within 6 working days.  We can also carry out the Multiplex test at 10 days for HIV, hepatitis B and C.

We carry out HIV Tests for visa purposes, including visas for Russia and the Middle East.

We can also discuss other issues such as Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and how to deal with being HIV positive. samedaydoctor^TM is happy to offer a fully comprehensive service to all our patients including pre and post testing support. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the virus which may eventually progress and lead to a diagnosis of AIDS.

It is possible to do any other combination of tests or add other tests such as throat or rectal swabs, herpes swab tests, Hepatitis C tests and cervical smear tests.

STD Testing

There is no need to do swab tests. Men and women may have STD Tests done on urine samples if they prefer. The Umbrella Test is an urban myth which does not exist (Bradbeer et al; BMJ 2006; 333: 1287-1288).

Our testing is fully confidential and real names do not have to be given. You do not have to give your address or phone number and we do not contact you or your GP unless you request us to do so. The tests and their results do not go on to any central medical record.

We can prescribe antibiotics at the first visit for patients with symptoms or those in high risk situations, but we would also send away samples for testing.

We have male and female Doctors. A chaperone is always available.

The Full Sexual Health Screen: £295, includes:

• Blood Test for HIV, HIV 1 and 2 Antibodies, P24 Antigen, Hepatitis B Antigen and Syphilis
• Urine Tests for STI/STD, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, NSU and urine infections (we recommend that men do not pass urine for at least 2 hours prior to their appointment.)
• Examination for Genital Warts and Herpes 
  
• Vaginal swabs in woman will also detect Trichomonas, thrush (candida) and Bacterial Vaginosis (BV).
  
• Anal, rectal or oral swabs may be carried out at a small extra cost.

Additional tests such as Herpes Testing needs to be discussed with the Doctor or Nurse. We can also tailor special profiles for men who have sex with men.

Premier Sexual Screening: £495

In some situations it may be appropriate to offer the Premier Sexual Screening service. This includes the Full Sexual Health Screen as detailed above, plus:

• HPV Swab for 20 Subtypes of Virus
• Herpes Blood Test for HSV 1 and 2 Antibodies
• Swab or Urine Test for Mycoplasma Genitalium,Trichomonas Vaginalis and ureaplasma species

Chlamydia testing

Chlamydia testing is a simple procedure, and simply requires a urine sample. There is no need for blood tests and swabs, although you can have these done if you wish. Test results come back in 1 – 2 days, and if you have tested positive treatment is prescribed – typically, a course of antibiotics.

In cases where a test is negative, we always suggest a follow up test just to make sure - Chlamydia testing is not always completely accurate if you have recently contracted the virus.


HIV testing

Like the Chlamydia test, HIV testing is available as a single test or as part of the general STD test we do at our STD testing clinics.

HIV testing can be carried out in a number of ways, and at numerous stages after contracting the disease. If you use anonymous STD testing and don’t want to give your phone number or address, some test results are available the same day – the INSTi HIV test offers results in just one minute.

HIV testing, like all the procedures carried out at our STD testing clinics, is done in a totally stress-free, non-judgmental way, in total privacy.
