Swine flu vaccine available for certain high risk groups

We have stocks of swine flu vaccine- in accordance with Government guidelines we can offer this vaccine to registered patients who fall into one of the following categories.
1. Pregnant women.
2. Patients with chronic heart, lung, kidney, liver or neurological disease.
3. Patients with diabetes mellitus
4. Immunocompromised patients and their household contacts.
5. Frontline healthcare workers.
6. Children under 5 who are older than 6 months.
Patients or their guardians will be asked to sign a declaration of their eligibility as well as bringing evidence of eligibility.
For patients who think they may already be suffering from pandemic swine flu a telephone consultation is available. We can treat people with early symptoms with Tamiflu 75 mg twice daily for 5 days.
We advise people with symptoms of possible swine flu to telephone for a consultation rather than walk in to our clinic.
Swabs to confirm diagnosis may also be offered and the results come back in 1-2 days. It is not always necessary to take swabs but this is offered to patients where considered appropriate.

Swine flu vaccine - administration fee £5 (previously registered patients only)
Registration fee for unregistered patients £50
Consultation if required £100
Tamiflu Medication £70
Swine flu swabs £160 (including consultation)
Seasonal flu vaccine £25

Symptoms of swine flu include fever, headache, sore throat, aching muscles, night sweats, cough and runny nose.
